I'm a mom and educator with an intense passion for reading....and *hanging head in shame*
I do not own a library card.. It started when my son was a toddler. We spent a quiet afternoon in the library and picked some books to take home. DS excitedly "read" the same picture book aloud to no one in particular over and over. When it came time to return the book, he was all tears. "Mommy, we have to give it back?" he wailed. I know I should have let him learn that sometimes you can't have what you want but I'm certainly guilty of loving a book so much that I read it repeatedly. I'm so glad that at almost 16, my DS is still a very enthusiastic reader. Anyway, I let my library card expire at some point and it's been book trading with friends and discount memberships since then.
A few weeks ago, I bought this bookmark at Barnes and Noble. Out of the 50 books to read before you die, I have only read 30 of them. I'm going to try my best to finish the other 20 during the next year although I have no intention of dying. Guess I'll be renewing my library card... :-)
