I saw this question posted on the NSBR board on Two Peas today. "Black Butterfly" was one of my favorite songs when I was younger. It is by R-n-B artist turned gospel singer, Deniece Williams. (Remember her hit, "Let's Hear it for the Boy" from "Footloose"?) These are the lyrics:

That is my absolute favorite Deniece Williams song. When I first saw your blog title, I immediately started singing that song to myself. I used to sing it to my daughter when she was a baby (although I can't sing it nearly as well as Deniece did). Those lyrics are so powerful. I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates the message it conveys.
What a beautiful song! Very cool to know that's how you picked your blog title. Mine came from the photo of my cat's feet in the title banner. :) I was sitting there trying to come up with something - looked at him laying on the desk in front of me and AHA! Nothing too fancy, but I like it.
